Amirkabir Petrochemical Complex Foundations settlement control for Flare Area

Owner: Amirkabir Petrochemical Complex

Consultant: Pars Geo Enviro

Starts: Aban 1394

Method: Ischebeck mini piling

Explanation: Weak soil and non-improved embankment cased settlement up to 1 meter in some places and caused serious problems. PGE Consulting Engineers Company suggested mini piles with variable diameters 18 to 30 cm due to the confined working area. Despite of Ischebeck 18-meter mini piles, a 4-meter casing 168 mm diameter is being installed due to the lateral forces in the top of each borehole. To insure grout coverage on the casing a 30 cm polyethylene casing is installed to avoid loose soil collapse and mix with the grout. Lower cost, higher performance and more precise quality controlling are remarkable pints in using Ischebeck mini piling comparing other concrete pile types. Maximum design capacity of 40 tons is achieved by the tests conducted by the consultant company.
